Website design with wordpress does not need to know programming. (P2)

To design a website to help you sell and increase sales, the installation steps alone are not enough. In this series I will guide you how to post products and sell them.

Post products.

You access to the website administration and follow the path: products> add products.

The main content of the product

When posting a product there are 3 parts:
  • Product’s name
  • Description of products (Difference, benefits, features, … can add photos or videos)
  • Short product description. (purchase policy, promotions, …)
After you have added main content for the product, you take extra steps to complete the post.
Consists of 4 parts:
  • Product category (Classification for customers to choose easily)
  • Product keywords (* Note: is a keyword for potential customers to search on your website, not an SEO keyword)
  • Avatar (the picture the customer will see on the category page)
  • Product photo album (including many different angles of the product, when customers click on product details)

Warehouse inventory.

Usually I will use 3rd party plugins, specialized software for sales management. Or you can directly use woocommerce.
Consists of 4 parts:
  • Product code (You can assign it arbitrarily and conveniently)
  • Warehouse management (Notifies you if the product is below the minimum stock level)
  • Warehouse status (3 states: out of stock, out of stock and waiting for stock)
  • Sold separately: the picture already has the definition.

Usually you will use a 3rd party plugin to connect to delivery units.
Here, I use the plugin Shipping Viet Nam WooCommerce,

After activating the plugins, you access the path Woocommerce> Settings> Delivery.

This plugin only supports 2 delivery units: GHN and GHTK.

Setup GHN
Setup GHN
Fill out some necessary information, about where GHN will pick up the goods.
* Note: GHN token is their API, when you create GHN’s account they will provide or if you already have an account, you can access https://api.ghn.vn/
Then select Save changes.
Back on the product data page, select the shipping tab. To be able to calculate the shipping fee you are required to enter the volume of the goods you are selling. So the shipping fee is shown to the customer.

Affiliated products.

The product linked here is Cross sell and Up sell about the definition of these two forms, you can google for more information. In this article, I will not explain.
Product Links
Product Links
You just need to type in the product name (Note that only the products you have uploaded)
For this method, you should only choose 1 of 2. Either sell more or cross-sell, do not choose both because customers will see you manipulate and affect the user experience.

Product attributes.

Items such as size, color, …
To set up properties for the product you select, follow the Product> Attributes link.
